4. C a r e f o r s o m e o ne e l s e. This could be making cookies for a neighbor. Sitting with someone new at work or school. Believe it or not, when you're feeling discouraged about yourself, giving attention to or caring for someone else is going to make you feel amazing. It's true when they say smiling is contagious. Making someone feel better makes us feel better too; you did something kind and good!
5. G i v e y o u r s e l f p e r m i s s i o n. This is another one I really struggle with. I get caught up in the “well it’s always been this way so that’s how it’s going to be forever and ever.” You are allowed to try new things. You are allowed to say no because you have too much on your plate. You are allowed to stay in and relax because you’ve had a busy week. You are allowed to think you are beautiful. You are allowed to like your eyes and your legs. You are allowed to cheer others on and help them be successful.
6. G e t r I d o f t h e c l u t t e r. We have so much; but someone always has more. When we remove the power of jealousy and comparison from our lives we are left content. That fight to be competitive, (prettier, smarter, skinnier, more successful than) goes away. That fear of someone ‘catching up’ to you holds no weight. You are free to live life and live it to the full.
As the closing moments of summer commence, we would love to encourage you. Leave a comment below how you would want a photographer to encourage you. What about before, during and after the session? What would that look like for you personally? We want to hear from YOU!
